Project : Sahadev multispeciality hospital
Beds/ Area: 74 beds, 40022 Sq. Ft
Scope : End-to-end planning & design

The Exterior: An Icon of Trust

The building’s exterior is a powerful statement of modern healthcare. The facade combines robust, textured stone with expansive glass, creating a multi-layered design that is both substantial and open. The deep overhangs and canopies not only offer practical shade but also define the main entrance, creating a welcoming and protected threshold. The integrated signage, including the hospital’s name and key services are sleek and clearly visible. The architecture strikes a balance between solid mass and transparency, signaling a facility that is both strong and accessible, dedicated to serving its community.

The Reception: A Serene Welcome

Sahdev Hospital’s reception area is a masterclass in minimalist design aimed at reducing patient anxiety. The space is dominated by a crisp, white palette, accented by subtle touches of blue in the cushions. The reception desk is a sculptural, curved form that breaks the rigidity of a typical counter, creating a softer, more inviting point of contact. The hospital’s logo is beautifully integrated into a backlit wall feature, acting as a serene focal point that reinforces branding without visual clutter. The polished, seamless flooring and clean lines throughout the space, including the concealed lighting and flush doors, speak of hygiene and precision, which are paramount in a healthcare setting.

The Patient Suite: Recovery Redefined

The patient suite is a sanctuary of comfort and care. This is not just a room, but a healing environment where every element supports patient well-being. The design is light and airy, with a neutral color scheme and large windows that allow for abundant natural light. The room is cleverly zoned, with a separate seating area for visitors, ensuring the patient’s immediate space remains a private zone for rest. The subtle use of art, a potted plant, and warm cove lighting adds a residential touch, reducing the institutional feel. The retractable curtain system offers flexibility for privacy, while the integrated medical equipment is discreetly placed to maintain a calming aesthetic.

The OPD: Efficiency and Comfort

The Out-Patient Department (OPD) office is designed for both clinical efficiency and patient comfort. The space is bright and uncluttered, promoting a professional and calm atmosphere. The design employs a neutral palette with a pop of cobalt blue on the cabinetry, a strategic color choice that adds a touch of vibrancy without being distracting. Ergonomic seating for both the doctor and patient signals a commitment to comfort during consultations. Integrated lighting—from the minimalist pendant over the desk to the subtle shelf lighting—ensures the space is well-lit for both examination and conversation.

The Cafe: A Break for the Soul

The hospital’s café is a vibrant and unexpected retreat. Breaking from the clinical aesthetic, it features a lively design with a striking use of blue and white patterned tiles on the bar counter and backsplash. This stylistic choice creates a warm, welcoming, and almost residential feel, offering a much-needed mental break for visitors and staff. The space is open and bright, with a well-organized menu board and an inviting seating area. The exposed industrial-style ceiling and hanging plants add a contemporary edge, making the café a true haven of respite within the hospital environment.
